Iron Mike Norton debuted his cover of Kris Kristofferson´s Help Me Make It Through The Night, on digital music services worldwide today.

Iron Mike´s rendition is an upbeat, driving rock version of the original. which was a hit on country radio for both Kristofferson, and female country artist, Sammi Smith. The song has also been covered by Tammy Wynette, Willie Nelson, Elvis Presley, and most recently, Michael Buble

Perhaps more interesting is the story behind the recording:

In the 1960´s, a Rhodes Scholar from Brownsville, Texas joined the United States Army as a second lieutenant. He would attend Ranger school and eventually become a helicopter pilot.  A second young man, from the Ozark mountains of Missouri would take a similar path, becoming a helicopter crewman in the same unit.

The crewman was the father of roots rock recording artist, Iron Mike Norton, and the Texan was none other than Kris Kristofferson.

Fans can download or stream the song from their preferred music service at
